A lot of thought went into the name Honest Tom’s. Rather than naming the shop after the owners, as many independent repair shops do, we wanted our name to stand for something bigger our values, our ethics, and the way we believe auto repair should be done.
The name carries special meaning. One of our owners, Matt, was inspired by his late father, Tom—affectionately known by friends and colleagues as “Honest Tom.” He earned that nickname through a lifetime of integrity, straightforwardness, and a no-nonsense approach to doing what was right.
Those values left a lasting impression on Matt and continue to guide how our shop operates today. To honor both of his parents, Matt chose to name the business after his father who shared a simple but powerful belief:
“What’s right is what’s right. Just do the next right thing.”
